Sustainability in exhibition construction

Our rule:
Don’t talk sustainability unless you mean it.

Every exhibition stand and every event space should have a vision. That’s why we don’t design your appearance only for today’s audience – but with the next generation in mind as well. Especially because trade fairs have traditionally been fast, big and short-lived, sustainable thinking matters more than ever. At siebold/hamburg, sustainability isn’t a trend – it’s part of how we work. Every stand we build follows the principles of the circular economy: certified materials, transparent processes and CO₂ accounting included. Your benefits at a glance:

Your exhibition appearance meets high environmental standards – with certified materials and genuine environmental awareness.

Transparent
CO₂ accounting

Our CO₂ calculator makes sustainability tangible. You can see at a glance how climate-friendly your stand is – and where there’s room for improvement.

Compensation included

If you wish, we offset your CO₂ footprint through certified climate projects – for responsibility you can genuinely stand behind.

For us, sustainability
– starts with ability.

Climate-friendly by design.
Client-friendly by default.

Responsibility towards the environment isn’t a trend for us – it’s part of our everyday work. From material selection and production to set-up on site, we consistently focus on environmental compatibility as an exhibition contractor based in Hamburg. We work with recognised environmental certifications, prioritise recyclable and reusable materials and rely on resource-efficient processes throughout. For you, that means: your exhibition stand is not only visibly sustainable, but also transparently documented – whether you’re planning a classic appearance or a digital stand with interactive tools. And if someone asks how seriously you take sustainability, you can prove it. A welcome side effect: increased credibility with customers, visitors and partners alike.

Every exhibition stand has a carbon footprint – and we make it transparent.

Claiming sustainability is easy. Proving it is what counts. That’s why we offer full transparency. Using our integrated CO₂ accounting tool, we capture all emissions generated during your exhibition project – from production and transport to set-up on site. Transporting large stand elements in particular can generate significant emissions. We include those as standard. You receive a clear, easy-to-read evaluation showing where your appearance is already climate-friendly – and which levers can be adjusted to do even better. This allows you to optimise your stand in a targeted, strategic way and document your sustainability efforts at any time. If needed, we also support you in preparing the results for internal presentations or external communication.

When reduction ends, compensation starts.

For us, sustainability doesn’t stop at reducing resources and CO₂ emissions. It also includes compensation. That’s why we offset all unavoidable emissions of your individual exhibition project through certified climate protection projects – automatically, fully and transparently. For you, this means more than just a professional appearance. It’s a clear statement of responsibility. Sustainability doesn’t just benefit the planet. It strengthens your brand.

FAQs about sustainable exhibition stand construction

As sustainable as you want them to be – and often a little more. We focus on durable materials, intelligent constructions and smart reuse concepts. Every stand is designed to make a strong impression on visitors – and leave as small a footprint on the planet as possible.

They don’t end up in our bins. Single-use stands don’t exist at siebold/hamburg. Reusable components are professionally stored on request and prepared for their next use. Materials that need replacing are recycled or reused for prototypes and special builds. Almost nothing goes to waste – except maybe a guilty conscience.

Honestly? The best ones. Our goal is always the perfect balance between quality, design and environmental compatibility. That’s why we work with high-quality, certified materials such as sustainably sourced wood, aluminium, glass and fabrics with recycled content.

Yes – because we can. At our Hamburg-Stellingen site, we run our own carpentry, graphics department, upholstery/sewing workshop and metal workshop. And when projects grow even bigger, our long-standing regional partners support us.
